Lightning strikes Sunday afternoon sparked house fires in Bluffton and Howe, the National Weather Service reported today.
The Bluffton lightning strike, at 4 p.m., caused a fire on the community's southeast side, the weather service said in a report from a co-op observer.
The Howe strike, at 4:30 p.m., was called in by the public, the weather service said. A power line was also reported down from strong storms in the Howe area.
