Only 3 more teams?

Something very interesting has come out of the ECHL's meetings: That the league wants to cap its membership at 26 teams, or, only three more additions.

It seems to me the CHL is on life support with only 10 teams in a, shall we say, less-than-compact geographic set up.

Many had thought the ECHL had its sights set on Rapid City, Missouri, Wichita and Tulsa. Well, at least one of those teams would seem to be off the radar (my guess would be Tulsa), and it could even be two when you remember professional hockey is going to come back to Indianapolis at some point. The Komets and Evansville IceMen will want Indianapolis in badly.

Nothing else earth-shattering out of the meetings. Although, why does it take so long to figure out a playoff format?
