Skillman in city

Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman is in Fort Wayne this morning to deliver the keynote address at the Advancing Hoosier Women in Business seminar at 10 a.m. the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce. Then she travels south to Hartford City, where she will meet with Mayor Ben Hodgin as well as Montpelier Mayor Kathy Bantz at 1 p.m.

Obama campaigns

President Obama speaks today at the meeting of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials. He is nearly certain to discuss his decision to suspend deporting young immigrants brought to the U.S. as children and issuing them work permits for two years. Obama will likely be greeted more warmly than Mitt Romney, who spoke to the group Thursday and said he would ease the path to a green card, make it easier for farm workers to come to the United States and finish a high-tech fence along the Mexican border.
