TinCaps drop 5th straight

The All-Star break is coming at the right time for the TinCaps.

Fort Wayne finished the first half of the season with its fifth straight loss, falling to Bowling Green 9-3 Sunday at Bowling Green Ballpark.

Cody Hebner gave up six runs on seven hits in four innings. It’s the first time the TinCaps have been swept in a series this season. The five-game losing streak is the longest of the year for Fort Wayne (31-39).

Joshua Sale had three RBI for the Hot Rods. Bowling Green (38-32) scored four runs in the third inning and added two more in the fifth.

Lee Orr had two of Fort Wayne’s five hits. He also had two RBI.

The TinCaps have the next four days off for the Midwest League All-Star Break. The team returns to action Friday against Lake County at Parkview Field.
