TinCaps lose in 10 innings

For most of the night, the night belonged to two men and two men only.

One was Matt Wisler of the TinCaps (31-37), who baffled the Bowling Green Hot Rods with six innings of shutout, three-hit pitching. The other was Parker Markel, who did the same for Bowling Green – six innings, three hits, no runs.

In the end, though, it was Todd Glaesmann of Bowling Green (36-31) who had the final say, chasing home Drew Vettelson with the only run of the game in a 1-0 Bowling Green victory in 10 innings at Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green, Ky.

Glaesmann’s one-out triple in the home 10th, after Vettelson singled with one out, finished off a sterling pitcher’s duel between Wisler and TinCaps reliever James Jones, and Markel and Bowling Green relievers Jason McEachern and Austin Hubbard, who got the win.

Both teams finished with five hits. Wisler and Jones struck out seven Hot Rods and Markel, McEachern and Hubbard fanned 12 TinCaps.
