A Cutthroat negotiation

Goaltender Nick Boucher, who has led the Komets to four championships in the last five years, and who was selected by his teammates as MVP last season, has had talks with the expansion Denver Cutthroats of the CHL about playing for them next season.

"I always listen to teams," he wrote in a text message. "Nothing's signed, though."

Boucher led the Komets to the CHL's President's Cup last season, but the Komets are moving to the ECHL.

ECHL rules don't allow the Komets to sign players this early in the offseason.
