Poor weather forced Purdue to cancel the spring game and instead hold a scrimmage inside the Mollenkopf Athletic Center.

"I was told right before the scrimmage was supposed to start that there was going to be a severe lightning storm coming this way," Purdue coach Danny Hope said. "I don't know how severe it got. Any time you're messing around with lightning, why take a chance? I didn't want to start and stop a scrimmage. It was a no-brainer for me."
