The Komets announced Tuesday that they have traded defenseman Trisitin Llewellyn to the Missouri Mavericks for goaltender Gerry Festa.
Festa, 27, began his pro career with Missouri 2009-10. This season was his third consecutive season with the Mavericks. The netminder opened this season with two wins. He had a 2-4-2 record, a 3.00 goals-against average and .904 save percentage in eight appearances.
Festa made his debut against the Komets on Dec. 29, a 4-2 loss. He had 37 saves on 40 shots. It was his most recent appearance before today's trade with the Komets.
Festa is expected to arrive in Fort Wayne in time for Friday morning's Komet practice at the Coliseum. The Calgary, Alberta native is expected to be in the lineup Friday night when the Komets host Dayton.
Llewellyn started the season with the Komets appearing in 11 games scoring one assist.
