Officers, firefighters to face off in charity match

The Fort Wayne police and fire departments will play in a hockey game Saturday to help raise money for a captain who recently lost his wife in a traffic accident.

The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at the Canlan ice arena, 3869 Iceway Drive.

Admission is free and donations will be accepted for the family of Capt. Russell McMurdy, according to a written statement from the police department.

There will be door prizes and a raffle drawing, the statement said.
